Lockdown Love Affair is a culmination of Jasper Boer’s years of cross-genre experimentation. An optimistic and playful venture outside of the traditional lounge and electronica genre boundaries that have defined most of his previous full length releases.
It is electronic jazz fusion built around loungy Rhodes and Wurlitzer chords, warm Moog basslines and soulful dance beats. It is Latin swing with a dash of bossa nova and splashes of tribal percussion, folk and exotica.

Sit back with your favourite drink and hit play to experience a hot summer’s night armchair safari!
Locked down in his garage studio in Raglan, New Zealand, Jasper draws from his local summer Sunday sessions and past holiday experiences to evoke cozy festival vibes and transport his listeners to tropical places. Enjoy an Ibiza beach chillout sunset session, a Caribbean cruise ship cocktail gig, or mingle with locals at an Italian town square celebration. Adventurous, yet at the same time so comfortable, nostalgic and familiar.
The album’s live instrumentation hits closer to home with funky key solos by dad Hans Boer (Panthéon – NL), cheerful accordion by long time friend Edoardo Degioanni (Lou Seriol – IT) and tight riffs as well as more expressive saxophone improv by award winning Alexander Bone (Kylie Minogue, Rudimental – UK).
