Uncertainty video by Iconoscopio
In the summer of 2011 I was contacted by Juan Lesta, who introduced me to his company Esferobite, based in Coruña and Barcelona: a small audiovisual company working in music video, experimental video, video art, and much more innovative applications of music & video. They love electronic ambient music as much as I do and listen to IDM artists Kettel, Ulrich Schnauss, Autechre, Crisopa, Bola & Secede among other experimental audio projects.
Two years ago they started Iconoscopio: a videoblog in which they collaborate with musicians from around the world whose music they love.
We love your work, and listen to it often. It would be a pleasure to work with one of your songs. We have been following you for years (since your earliest releases "Shapes Are" and "Blue Shimmery Fall"), and your work seems very suggestive to us.
Iconoscopio #10 Uncertainty
Water, electricity, jets, colours & sprays, combined with Jap Jap’s ambient sounds, are the elements that they used to create this video. The footage, that is fully synchronized with the song, was shot at the magic Fountain of Montjuic in Barcelona.
Anyone can submit a song. A track that inspires ideas. Iconoscopio is always interested in the experimentation, eager for new ideas and finding new channels to work with music videos. The only limit is length: two minutes.
I chose to send them a short instrumental edit of “Uncertainty”, from my album “The Ever Expanding Light“. I think the result is quite stunning and I’m proud to be the first non-Spanish speaking artist to contribute to the project!
