Video art by Roberto Alborghetti
LaceR/Actions is a multidisciplinary experimental art project by professional reporter, author and visual artist Roberto Alborghetti. He captures photos of decomposed and torn posters and street signs. The images are then transferred on canvases, reproduced on lithographic prints & textiles, re-ordered on collages or scanned and used in video clips.
This last method is how a collaboration between the 2 artists was formed. Roberto’s images are an interesting combination with the chillout vibe of Jap Jap’s ambient electronica music. The visual details in the torn and decomposed publicity posters and ads give new life to waste-paper.
Light (de)Signs
This clip shows six recent images taken in Amsterdam (where Jap Jap resides). Note that all the images are absolutely authentic and not manipulated, just like all 35.000 pics collected by Roberto Alborghetti in his ripped ads research.
The Ever Expanding Light
Another video creation featuring Roberto’s inspiring art introduces Jap Jap’s forthcoming album “The Ever Expanding Light“.
Art critics and experts say that Roberto Alborghetti’s art has an “exceptional and evocative dynamic” and “a strong power of language”. It shows “new points of observation that overwhelm canonical trial systems”, “breaking the current patterns of visual art”. His art works are “explosions of color, passion, joy, sorrow, story, emotion, beauty & love…”. “They touch us and go straight to the heart”, “a provocation to our eyes and to our mind”.
